The Physician of Souls

Hello there loved ones!

I apologize for my increasingly shorter and shorter emails… I am not quite sure where the time goes! Well I do know where it went today…. we went out to Lac with our recent convert ona to go and meet her parents, so this is out in an village about an hour out of Tirana… and she owns some good land out there and we went out and met her cute parents and they made us a TON of food! I haven’t been made to eat that much food for quite some time…. it took about 3 hours to consume it…. so needless to say by the time we were done and waddled back to the freeway to hail ourselves a van back to Tirana… and then we kind of lost an elder in a bus stop…. don’t worry we found him again…. and now we are here! It has definitely been a day of adventuring and oh so much albanian food! I will never eat again…. well…. at least not until our next dinner appointment tonight….. SOS! Have no fear everyone, our metabolisms are doing alright, we start our day with insanity with Shaun T. or with good old Tony on P90x so it is all alright… have no fear.
This week has been filled of amazing things. Lots of Young women, lots of activities. Lots of handing out of flyers. Lots of inviting to baptism. Lots of walking. Lots of miracles. We have some absolute goldens preparing for baptism. Ooh one fun one, last week we got a referral from the elders, and we totally met up with her and she is amazing and actually reminds me of one of my Recent Converts Gena… but anyway, the funny thing of how she was found… she was street contacted using the Law of Chastity pamphlet. Interesting right? So that was interesting!
I just wanted to talk about this wonderful Recent convert of ours. She is fantastic. And boy has she passed through dark times. I can’t even begin to describe or imagine the hardships. But through all of it… Christ has been there for her. And as she has been learning with us, there has been a visible difference in her. She is healing. In the way only her Savior can help her. And it is truly humbling and wonderful to see, how the Lord can heal any wound, if we let Him in. He truly is the Physician of Souls and it is so very beautiful to see. I know that He has been that for me. He has helped me in every hardship, in every moment of stress of difficulty. He is there. Before, during and after, to help us heal. To help me become better. And I am so very grateful for Him, for Jesus Christ, my Savior and Redeemer.
I love you all so much!

llagjen e trete, nje vend mrekullish.

List times!

– First off, Ona got baptized! This woman has been through a lot, and it has been an absolute honor to work with her, to see her faith grow and to see how much she loves her savior is absolutely humbling.
– Today we went to Kruja! It was absolutely fantastic. Climbing up castles and into caves… I thought I almost saw Gollem… don’t worry it wasn’t him.
– we had half way training this week with all the trainers and trainees! It was fantastic. We did some roleplays, and really talked about companionship unity. IT IS KEY! We must be one with the spirit. President started the training asking us who we would want to be out companion if we could choose… and all of us responded with the Spirit. And he responded that was good, but if we could choose, ANYONE, who would we choose? He then went on to explain that yes, if we have the spirit with us, if we seek to invite the spirit with us at all times, then we will have the Lord with us. And I know that I can’t imagine any companion better. The Lord. And when we have the Spirit with us, knowing that God the Father, Christ, and the Spirit are of the same Godhead, and of the same purpose, if we have the Spirit we have the Lord with us. Guiding us. How amazing is that? So how can we have the Spirit/The Lord working with us always? We must invite Him. We must pray CONSTANTLY for his guidance and help, because without it… we honestly will have no success. I know that for a fact.
– We baked a lot of cookies with the YW and investigators for Valentines day, enjoy the photo of me below 🙂
– Found lots of prepared souls this week. yay street contacting! The weather has been a lot nicer this week, so we have been able to get out a lot more!
– Fuller is hilarious. That is all.
Miracles are abundant. We are incredibly blessed, and I am grateful for everday that I have here! Love you all to the moon and back!

“Religion is more than the confession and profession of the lips.”

This is going to be a short email because a series of unfortunate events have happened today and we are low on email time! Just know that so much more has happened than what I could possibly write.

The work is moving along here in the beautiful land of third ward. This week our beautiful Ona will be getting baptized and we have some others working towards their dates! But we need to find even more people who are ready and humble enough to change their lives. The rain here is pretty heavy so it is a bit harder street contacting and finding… but the work moves on and the Lord continues to bless us. As long as we are being diligent and inviting all to hear and see.
Because we are short on time, I just want to testify that I know that Jesus is the Christ. That He is the son of God. I know that He cares for us. I know that God loves us. Enough that He sent His Son to pay for our sins and mistakes. I know that Christ knows us. He understands us. And I know that He has a desire for all mankind to come unto Him. I know that the gospel of Jesus Christ changes lives. It has changed mine. I will always stick up for what I believe, because I believe with every fiber of my being that it is true. I know that I was sent here to Albania for a reason. I know I am being molded, stretched, forged into the person that God needs and wants me to be. And I know that this work, missionary work, is the most important work that I could possibly be engaged in right now. The world needs to know of their Savior. I am grateful to be a missionary. It is an honor to put on my tag every morning and bare the name of my Savior, who saved a person as imperfect and faulted as me, who loves me and makes it possible for me to grow and become perfected in Him. I love Him.
I love you all dearly and I hope that you can learn more of your savior everyday. He loves us all so dearly. I have felt just a portion of that love for the people here in Albania, and what I feel is immense… I cannot fathom how much greater His actual love is! Never forget how much God loves us. Romans 8:38-39. I plead with you to lose yourself in the word of God. Get to know your Savior… build your relationship with Him. Because He knows you. And I know that through knowing Him, we can become more like Him.
With so much love from Albania,
Motra Kollmen

Rain for Days

So much rain over here in Albania! But It is beautiful. I love when it is raining in the morning and the clouds are just so low over the city, and I just open up the windows and listen the rain. Definitely one of my favorite relaxing activities. 🙂

I know this is the worst, but today I am just going to make a fun list of things that are going on over here.
– This week, moved up Ona’s baptismal date! She is absolutely fantastic, and I really haven’t met anyone with her love for her Savior before. She is catholic, and just knows the bible like the back of her hand, but has decided to completely follow her Savior and be baptized by proper authority, and she is so excited. And she just fits in so nicely into the ward 🙂 I am proud of her.
– Me and sister Fuller and our investigators and the gosturanis and other missionaries went and played futbol (soccer) this week… guess who is very bad at futbol? This kid. haha but it was way fun and hilarious. Sister Fuller is very into it. She also has a matching pink tracksuit which makes it even better 🙂 Love her.
– Also we are continuing to build the Young women over here! We have some amazing young women preparing to be baptized this month. Their faith is strong, and their desire to follow Christ is beautiful.
– This week we had a combined zone conference, and guess who came back to Albania!? Elder Befus, from my MTC family. Happy to see that kid. He is working hard down in Vlore now.
– Also a bit of sad news, all the dying (as in finishing their missions this transfer) missionaries gave their testimonies, and my trainer gave hers. I can’t believe how quickly time has passed that she was finally up there… yes there were tears in my eyes.
– Also a bit of more sad news… Sister Vermunt, my companion last transfer also gave a dying testimony, because this last week she had to go back to Canada.. she got really really sick again. But I pray she will be back. Yes there were tears in my eyes. But I am so proud of her, and all the work she was able to do here.
– This Sunday in sacrament I was just looking around at my Recent Converts and was just so proud of the progress they have made. It is amazing to be in an area for so long, to see so much of the progression that these people make from the beginning to where they are right now, and it is humbling to see how rapidly they learn. To see that though potentially still struggling with things, they show forth their faith and continue to learn and grow closer to their father in heaven. I love it.
– many other things….
-Finding souls. Inviting them to be baptized.
– sister Fuller is HILARIOUS. we are constantly laughing.
– Miracles.
I hope you are all doing well! Love you lots.
– Motra Kollmen
